What is Shinebright
Shinebright is DDARC’s annual back-to-school drive that helps families in the Coeur d’Alene area start the school year with confidence. We collect and distribute backpacks, school supplies, and small essentials so kids have what they need to learn, grow, and shine.
Why it matters
For many families, the cost of school supplies is a real burden. Shinebright removes that worry and gives students the practical tools — and the boost of dignity — they need to walk into the classroom ready to succeed. Every backpack we hand out is a small act of kindness that sparks a big ripple in our community.
Our Partners
Shinebright is supported by generous local partners, including Walmart Hayden (school supplies & backpacks), Beau Monde (event support), SYSCO Post Falls (refreshments), Sunshine Dentistry (hygiene supplies), and YMCA Spokane Valley (event host). Their sponsorship helps make the day safe, fun, and effective.
Impact
This year (2025), Shinebright distributed 347 backpacks and supported dozens of families. With your help we aim to reach even more children next year.
DDARC rides for more than the road — we ride for each other. Shinebright is our way of showing that compassion is stronger than any obstacle. Thank you for helping us brighten a child’s path this school year.
How it Works
Donations: We accept new backpacks, school supplies, and monetary donations. Sponsors and local businesses help match needs with resources.
Assembly: Volunteers gather to sort and assemble backpacks with age-appropriate supplies.
Distribution (Shinebright Day): Families in need collect backpacks at our community event — hosted this year at YMCA Spokane Valley — where children also enjoy snacks, activities, and a friendly DDARC welcome.
Get Involved

Volunteer. Help collect, sort, assemble, and hand out backpacks. No riding required — just a big heart.
Sponsor. Local businesses can partner to underwrite supplies, food, or event space.
